BOAT OWNERS MEETING LAST WEDNESDAY IN EVERY MONTH AT 7PM

WELCOME To the boat owner's page where I would like to introduce you to

some of Loughor Boat Owner's facilities and general activities. This is a

small, intimate and friendly club where members assist each other wherever

possible.

We have a locked compound which is covered by C.C.T.V. The compound is

quite spacious and has running water and electricity points available. It

is a hive of activity during the winter months, where general repair and

modification work is often carried out.

There is a workshop available which is approximately 40x20ft where inside

work can be carried, although lack of headroom through the doors restricts

entry to some vessels. This problem is due to be addressed in the near

future. The workshop contains lights and electricity; there are also some

lifting appliances available if required. Adjacent to the workshop there is

a steel lock up which contains the necessary fabrication equipment required

for work on trailers. Two steel lock ups are situated in the compound where

smaller items may be stored, space subject to availability. Between the

lock ups there is a 5cwt lifting frame for the removal of engines etc

There are two launching ramps available, which are, situated either side of

the  clubhouse, this gives access to up to 24 moorings. The club also owns

a launching  tractor.

The Boat owners hold a meeting on the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm

which allows us to discuss and try to improve the facilities available to

us, this also serves as an excuse to get together for a pint and general

chit chat and a small meal should the caterers be available. During the

summer months we hold fishing competitions every other week for which there

are a trophies available, we also have a small sweepstake. There is also a

Captains cup available the vessel with the most success.

We usually have two or three weekend trips to places such as Tenby or

Saundersfoot during the course of the season, who knows we may try Devon

next year. There are several organised trips to the more distant boat

jumbles where we make a day of it, stopping on route for refreshments.

There is an annual boat owner's presentation buffet with artist and disco,

this is an extra to general club entertainment.
